| New information received from 29 European countries. | ||
| Influenza activity was globally low across Europe, although it reached regional to widespread actitvity in some countries. A(H1N1) was still the predominant type/sutype but influenza B viruses were increasingly detected/isolated. | ||

| USA** | Widespread influenza activity was reported by 12 states and territorial health departments, whereas regional or sporadic activity was reported respectively by 18 and 19 states and territorial health departments.
